FIRST INTERSTATE SHOW EVER.
Beginning the long drive from Melbourne to Perth tomorrow and struggling to hold in the excitement.

pforu asked: Leigh, you take nice photos. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/Gaily/100-self-portraits-defining-ourselves-through-pho
Why not? I don't want to engage so obviously in narcissism all on my owney.
I’m too shy to take self portraits. Hahah, no really. I leave for a road trip tomorrow and the only working camera in my house is my Minolta. Too late on a Sunday night to go get film developed. Besides… I leave all the photographic magic up to you!! Love the new shots by the way.

What am I gonna do when I run out of lawn to mow?
What am I gonna do if you never come home?
Tell me, what am I gonna do? »Wilco - Hate it Here.
Wolf Creek is just an awful movie. Us Australians are really no good at this.
This being said, I still loved every moment of it.

Berwick to Perth via Albany. Leaving in 10 days. Holy shit. It’s really only just hit me today what a huge drive this going to be. This will probably be life changing.

Art of Fighting. Now they were a great band. Currently listening to ‘Wires’ from early 2001. There is something about them that is uniquely ‘Australian’. I am certainly no patriot, but I love when I hear something so real and close to home. They weren’t trying to be someone else, which to me is a bit of a downfall for so many Australian acts. Augie March, and more recently, Mercy Arms, also have this effect on me. Australia to me is dirt, drama and not trying to be too much (a certain modesty perhaps), and I hope one day to completely understand how to put this into my own music.
